1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Copyright Policy, and Community Guidelines form the agreement governing Comic Circuit. By creating an account or using the service, you accept that agreement. The private beta is limited to people at least 18 years old who can enter a binding contract. If you use Comic Circuit for an organization, you represent that you may bind it.
2. Accounts and beta access
Provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by Comic Circuit. Usernames must not impersonate another person, publisher, creator, or organization. Beta invitations are personal, revocable, and may not be sold or transferred. We may require verification or restrict an account to protect the service.
3. The service and catalog
Comic Circuit helps members catalog comics, manage collections, record reviews, create lists and reading orders, view estimates and recommendations, and use community features. Catalog data, market observations, reading orders, recommendations, release information, and completion estimates are informational. They may be incomplete, delayed, or corrected and are not professional, investment, appraisal, purchasing, or continuity advice.
4. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Comic Circuit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, display, distribute, and make that content available only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, promote, and improve the service. The license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies already shared by others and reasonable backup, safety, dispute, and legal-retention periods. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and grant this license.
5. Comic Circuit materials
The service’s software, design, branding, original text, and organization are owned by Comic Circuit or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Except for ordinary personal use of the service, no right to copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, sell, or exploit those materials is granted. If you voluntarily provide feedback, Comic Circuit may use it without restriction or compensation.
6. Acceptable use
Do not violate law or others’ rights; upload pirated or unlawfully obtained material; harass, threaten, deceive, or impersonate others; evade blocks or enforcement; scrape, index, or automate access without written permission; interfere with security or availability; introduce malicious code; collect member information without consent; send spam; manipulate engagement; or use Comic Circuit to facilitate fraud or unlawful transactions. Follow the Community Guidelines.
7. Moderation and repeat infringement
Comic Circuit may investigate reports; limit distribution; remove or preserve content; restrict messaging or features; and suspend or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, repeat infringement, or service integrity. We may consider severity, context, history, and credible legal notices. We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, users who repeatedly infringe copyright. Reports do not guarantee a particular outcome, and enforcement may occur without advance notice when urgent.
8. Publisher and third-party material
Comic covers, characters, logos, titles, creator names, source records, and related material belong to their respective rights holders. Their limited catalog use does not transfer rights or imply endorsement. The service may link to or rely on third-party services and information. Comic Circuit does not control and is not responsible for their content, availability, terms, security, or privacy practices.
9. Copyright complaints
Copyright notices and counter-notices must follow the Copyright Policy. Comic Circuit may provide a compliant notice or counter-notice, including the sender’s contact information, to the affected member or claimant as contemplated by law. Misrepresentations may create liability. The website form does not replace the separate federal designated-agent registration, which remains pending.
10. Availability and disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Comic Circuit disclaims all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or secure operation, permanent storage, error-free catalog data, or that estimates and recommendations will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so they apply only to the extent permitted.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Comic Circuit and its operators, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities. Their aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Comic Circuit during the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Comic Circuit and its operators from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your material violation of these Terms or another person’s rights. Comic Circuit may control the defense of a covered claim, and you agree to cooperate reasonably.
13. Suspension, termination, and changes
You may stop using the service or request account deletion. Comic Circuit may change, suspend, or discontinue features and may terminate access for material or repeated violations, legal requirements, risk, or prolonged inactivity. Material changes to these Terms will be presented through the service or another reasonable method before they take effect. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and dispute-related provisions—will survive.
14. General terms
These Terms are the entire agreement concerning the service and supersede prior statements on that subject. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign the agreement without consent; Comic Circuit may assign it in connection with a reorganization, financing, or transfer of the service. No third party is a beneficiary of these Terms.
15. Contact and provisions still pending
Use Account Settings for data requests, in-product reporting for safety concerns, and the Copyright Policy for intellectual-property concerns. The operator identity, postal contact, governing-law provision, forum, and registered DMCA agent information will be added before the service leaves closed beta. No blank or pending field should be treated as a waiver of rights or as a completed statutory registration.
